Mayor Bob Harbicht noted during a dedication ceremony Tuesday that the $20,000-plus cost of the big concrete pedestal to hold the new life-size statue of Arcadia founder Lucky Baldwin was covered by the $25,000 contribution to the City’s public art fund by Westfield Santa Anita.
Westfield made the donation as part of their agreement with the City to allow the company to expand the mall.
A couple hundred people participated in the unveiling of the statue and a related new Arcadia Historical Society “History Lives Here” marker in the rose garden across the street from the Chamber office between Huntington and Campus Drives at the intersection of Holly Avenue.
