Citizens Business Bank Warning about Cybercriminals
Cybercriminals are actively targeting businesses, purporting to be calling from the Fraud department of their bank. Citizens Business Bank will NEVER call you and ask for your Online Banking password, login Secure Access Code, transaction approval Security Token Code, Credit Card or Debit Card information.
NEVER PROVIDE YOUR ONLINE BANKING PASSWORD, LOGIN SECURE ACCESS CODE, OR TRANSACTION APPROVAL SECURITY TOKEN CODE TO ANYONE.
Fraudsters are experts at tricking victims into revealing personal and financial information. One method currently used is to copy or “spoof” a legitimate phone number, such as the victim’s bank phone number, which then appears on the victim’s Caller ID. NEVER trust Caller ID and ALWAYS be suspicious of unsolicited phone calls asking for personal information or Online Banking credentials.
If a fraudster tricks you into providing your User ID, they may trigger the Online Banking Forgot Password feature to send you a Secure Access Code. The fraudster may then ask you to recite the Secure Access Code you received over the phone or in an email, which they can use to access your Online Banking profile. Please Note: Citizens Business Bank will NEVER ask for this code.
