The ribbon was cut on the long-awaited 1,200-seat, 40,000 square-foot state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center at Arcadia High School Thursday, Oct. 18.
In addition to Chamber President Pete Siberell and Executive Director Scott Hettrick, hundreds of school and City officials and members of the various current and former boards supporting the concept were in attendance. About an hour later the entire theater was filled with parents during more than two hours of student performances that included the AHS orchestra, drama department, and the entire marching band, which spilled off the stage and into the aisles.
Student performances continue today and Saturday, and a fundraiser called “An Evening with Pauk Anka” is scheduled for Oct. 27.
