This morning Chamber Members were invited to learn about the business and tourist opportunities in Sri Lanka. Consulate General of Sri Lanka, Dr. Hector Weerasinghe, along with Consul V.S. Sidath Kumar offered opportunities for trade, investment and import / export opportunities. A variety of Ceylon Tea were sampled which is one of the top export item from Sri Lanka.
October 26 update: Sri Lanka was named the top travel destination by Lonely Planet, as noted in the Oct. 26 Edition of USA Today.
Varini De Silva, President of Ceylon Express International, opened our eyes to the beautiful beaches, lush forests and the exotic animals of Sri Lanka. Her company can provide a wide variety of innovative journeys to Sri Lanka and many other regions.
Attendees, which included City Manager Dominic Lazarreto and Chamber President Pete Siberell of Santa Anita Park race track, enjoyed a 14-minute video of the exotic land (see video following photo gallery below).
Lunch was served at the end of the presentation by Anon Caterers where we sampled Rice, Chicken Curry, Fish Curry, Mixed Salad, Shrimp Beduma, Eggplant Banana Curry also fruits and desserts. [flagallery gid=54 name=”Sri Lanka Promotion”]
