We have opened the online application filing period for the Assistant Property Assessment Specialist (G1978J-FR) position from Tuesday, February 17, 2026 through Friday, April 17, 2026, at 5 pm PST. Applicants will have a chance to join one of the largest and most dynamic departments in LA County, with 1,400 employees working to serve the public and support the equitable property assessment that funds our schools, public safety programs, and other vital services.

The Assistant Property Assessment Specialist assists in researching and analyzing laws, statutes, and legal matters regarding the assessment and conveyance of real property.

QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
Two years experience in the appraisal of real property for assessment purposes at the level of Los Angeles County’s class of Appraiser -OR- Certificate of completion from a paralegal training program approved by the American Bar Association or by an equivalent accrediting agency from another state.
