Pasadena City College Presents the EWD Pulse & Future of Work Podcast
Greetings!
There has rarely been a convergence of so many assets around a disaster site. California’s recovery effort after the 2025 wildfires has been uplifting and impressive, as professionals and tradespeople gather resources and talents to get the ravaged communities back online. Not only are they designing fire-resistant buildings, but they are also working to minimize potential earthquake damage. In every affected community, people are as invested in preventing future losses as they are in rebuilding what has burned. Consequently, innovations in both building materials and workforce skillsets are moving the region forward through the rebuilding process with confidence that recovery from future calamities won’t be so challenging.
On today’s Podcast, Mario Cordero, CEO of the Port of Long Beach, reports how global sustainability efforts are impacting operations on his site. And at The EWD Pulse website, you’ll find resources describing the recovery and rebuild efforts so far, as well as how industrial resiliency is growing as an industry motivator.
