USC Arcadia Hospital hosts annual Lunar Carnival at Santa Anita Park
The USC Arcadia Hospital Foundation hosted its annual Lunar Carnival on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Santa Anita Park. The event brought together community members, physicians and supporters for an evening that blended Lunar New Year traditions with Mardi Gras–inspired “bangles and beads” flair.
This year, more than 550 guests attended and enjoyed culinary offerings from popular San Gabriel Valley restaurants, along with live music throughout the night and special appearances by the USC Marching Band and USC mascot, Traveler.
Proceeds, which total $185,000, will benefit USC Arcadia Hospital’s ongoing education and training initiatives, culturally responsive care programs, and capital improvements.
During the evening, longtime hospital supporter and dermatologist Shirley Chi, MD, was honored as the Queen of Lunar Carnival 2026. “It was only natural for me to want to give back to the place that gave me the opportunity to be successful in my field as well as the place where I bring my family members in their time of needed health care services”, said Dr. Chi.
